SUMMARY:Jay Coda Walker April 19th 2026
DESCRIPTION:Jay Coda Walker April 19th 2026\n~ Calgary House Concerts ~\nLocation:\nBrentwood Community Centre\nJay Coda Walker returns to Calgary House Concerts on Sunday\, April 19\, and we’re truly looking forward to welcoming him back to the CHC community. \nJay is a roots-driven singer-songwriter whose music blends folk storytelling\, blues grit\, Americana warmth\, and a touch of rockabilly rhythm that brings lift and movement to the room. His songs feel lived-in\, honest\, and unforced — delivered with the steady confidence of an artist who has spent years shaping his craft in front of real audiences. He doesn’t overplay or oversell; he simply delivers strong songs with clarity\, depth\, and conviction. His voice carries a weathered\, soulful tone that draws listeners in\, while his guitar work moves effortlessly between reflective ballads and groove-driven moments that gently raise the energy without ever losing the heart of the song. It’s storytelling-rooted music designed for close listening — which is exactly why he fits so naturally into the Calgary House Concerts environment. \nAt his previous CHC appearance\, something special happened — that quiet shift where a room settles in together. Conversations soften. Phones disappear. Listening deepens. Shared laughter rises at the same time. Jay has that rare ability to guide a room into that shared space. Whether he’s offering a reflective lyric drawn from personal experience or leaning into a roots-rock rhythm that gently lifts the afternoon\, he makes the audience feel included in the unfolding story. It’s not a performance at you — it’s a performance with you. Over the years\, he has shared stages with respected roots and Americana artists across Western Canada\, building his reputation the long way through festivals\, intimate listening rooms\, songwriter circles\, community halls\, and regional showcases. Road-tested\, dependable\, deeply musical\, and grounded\, he treats every room with the same respect\, no matter its size. \nThis April 19 performance is also part of our ongoing Food Bank Booster initiative\, inviting guests to bring non-perishable food donations in support of local community food programs and the Veterans Association Food Bank. Calgary House Concerts has always been about more than presenting live music — it’s about gathering neighbours\, supporting artists\, and strengthening the social fabric of our communities. Each Food Bank Booster event turns a shared musical experience into tangible support for families and veterans facing food insecurity while reinforcing the simple but powerful idea that culture and care belong in the same room. \nWhen you attend\, you’re not just coming to a concert — you’re participating in a community effort that blends culture with care. Join us Sunday\, April 19\, bring a friend\, bring a food donation\, and bring your listening ears for an afternoon where live music and neighbourhood connection come together in the best possible way. \nThank you for supporting Live Music in the Community. \n🥫 Food Bank Booster Concert\nThis event is part of our ongoing Food Bank Booster Concert series. \nGuests are warmly invited to bring a non-perishable food donation in support of both our host Community Food Programs and the Veterans Association Food Bank. SUMMARY:The Matinee Kings Sunday May 03 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Matinee Kings— Live in the Community\nSunday\, May 3rd\, 2026 | 3:00 PM\nWe’re really looking forward to welcoming Brother Ray Lemelin & The Matinee Kings for their first appearance with Calgary House Concerts on May 3. With roots going back to the 1980s\, Ray brings nearly four decades of blues experience shaped in clubs\, festivals\, and community rooms across Canada. His music is honest and lived-in — carried by soulful vocals\, expressive guitar\, and a deep respect for the tradition. Alongside The Matinee Kings — a tight\, seasoned band — the sound settles in with warmth\, groove\, and that unmistakable feeling that only comes from years of playing together. \nMusically\, this is blues that feels both timeless and alive in the moment. Drawing from Chicago electric blues\, Texas swing\, and classic R&B\, the band creates a relaxed\, groove-driven sound that invites you in and holds you there. Ray’s guitar work is expressive and conversational\, while the band supports with a steady\, natural feel that allows the music to breathe and connect in a real way — perfect for an intimate listening-room setting. \nWhat makes this visit especially meaningful is the connection to community that sits at the heart of the music. Ray is a familiar presence at Blues Can\, where he hosts the long-running Sunday jam\, welcoming musicians and helping keep the blues alive and shared. The band has also received national recognition with a 2026 Canadian Blues Music Awards nomination for Blues Video of the Year for “Walk On / Ain’t No Use in Worryin’”\, a standout collaboration with acclaimed guitarist Steve Hill. The nominated video captures the spirit of the band — grounded\, soulful\, and deeply connected — and reflects their growing presence on the national stage. \nAs with all Calgary House Concerts events\, this afternoon is part of our ongoing Food Bank Booster Concert series. Guests are warmly invited to bring a non-perishable food donation in support of local community food programs and the Veterans Association Food Bank\, or contribute what they can at the door. It’s a simple but meaningful way we gather — sharing live music while also supporting neighbours and veterans facing food insecurity. \nThis is more than a concert — it’s a chance to reconnect with friends of the series\, welcome new listeners\, and experience live music the way it was meant to be shared: in real time\, in the room\, together. \nWe hope you can join us — and thank you for supporting Live Music in the Community. \n  \n🍲 Food Bank Booster \nThis concert continues the Calgary House Concerts Food Bank Booster series. Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation in support of local community food programs\, with a portion benefiting the Veterans Association Food Bank. Through these gatherings\, music becomes more than performance — it becomes a way to strengthen neighbourhood connection and support food security together. \nThis concert takes place in a warm\, community-based listening-room setting where music is meant to be felt\, not just heard. Whether you’re a longtime fan of roots music or discovering J.PLANK for the first time\, this is an afternoon designed for connection — between artist\, audience\, and community.\n________________________________________\nEvent Details\nSunday\, May 03\, 2026\nDoors open: 2:30 PM\nShowtime: 3:00 PM \nWe are currently finalizing our partner Community Association and will announce location shortly.\n________________________________________\nSupporting Artists & Giving Back\nThis is a Pay What You Can community concert. SUMMARY:The Porch Dogs Sunday June 7th 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Porch Dogs— Live in the Community\nSunday\, June 7th\, 2026 | 3:00 PM\nI’m thrilled to have The Porch Dogs come to CHC to introduce their new lineup and the possibility of their first album release — a fresh chapter of Calgary blues rooted in tradition and energized by emerging talent\, delivered in a warm\, intimate live setting. \nThe Porch Dogs have earned their place as one of Calgary’s most respected blues and roots collectives\, built on years of shared stages and a sound grounded in blues\, roots\, and classic R&B. Their music is all about groove\, feel\, and connection — the kind that settles into a room and draws people in naturally. It’s a sound longtime fans trust and new listeners immediately recognize as real. \nNow\, the band is stepping into a new phase. With the addition of Mitchell Brady (Jade Elephant)\, a standout younger guitarist\, the Porch Dogs are evolving with fresh energy and a renewed edge\, while staying true to their roots. This cross-generational shift brings new drive and excitement\, creating a sound that is both grounded and moving forward. \nHonouring the influence of the late Tim Williams\, this next chapter is focused on what’s ahead. With a 13-song album set for release this April — featuring earlier recordings alongside new material — and live performances building around that momentum\, this CHC show becomes something more: \n👉 A special moment to experience the band as they move forward\n👉 A new sound taking shape in real time\n👉 A rare chance to hear the Porch Dogs at the start of their first album era \nFeaturing Steve Gerard\, Bill Price\, Kevin Belzner\, Mike Woodford\, and Mitchell Brady\, this is a night that feels both grounded in legacy and alive with what’s coming next. SUMMARY:TREMELOCO Sunday July 19th 2026
DESCRIPTION:TREMOLOCOSunday\, July 19th\, 2026 | 3:00 PM\n~ Calgary House Concerts ~\nLocation:\nCommunity Centre coming soon \nSouthern California’s Tremoloco returns to Calgary House Concerts on July 19 at 3:00 PM\, bringing their desert-forged Americana\, Gulf Coast roots\, and Tex-Mex cantina groove back to the CHC community. This isn’t trend-chasing Americana — it’s lived-in\, road-built\, and earned through years of touring and refining their sound in real rooms. Think Sonoran desert soul meeting Texas dancehall swing\, wrapped in California country-rock warmth\, lifted by accordion-driven cantina rhythm\, and anchored by harmony-rich songwriting shaped by miles. \nWe’re genuinely excited to welcome Tremoloco back. It’s always a ton of fun\, always deeply musical\, and always a strong connection between band and room. \n🎤 Core Band \nTony Zamora – vocals\, basses\, guitarrón\, electric & acoustic guitars\, ukulele\, organ\, percussion \nCougar Estrada – piano\, drums\, keyboards\, percussion\, vocals \nRoberto Rodriguez III – accordion\, vocals \nFollowing their previous Calgary House Concerts appearance last summer\, the band headed into a European tour later that same month — reinforcing their international reach and professional touring stature. Tremoloco is a true working band\, performing across club circuits\, listening rooms\, festivals\, dancehalls\, and house concerts — wherever authentic\, roots-driven music is valued. \n🔥 Why They Stand Out \nTremoloco stands out because they carry the Southwest in their sound not as aesthetic styling\, but as lived culture. The accordion drives the music rather than decorating it. The rhythm section grooves with ease rather than flash. The songs unfold naturally — confident\, unforced\, and deeply musical. They’ve built their career the long way: earning stages\, audiences\, and respect across California\, Texas\, Europe\, and beyond. When that level of road-tested professionalism meets the intimacy of a Calgary House Concerts room\, something special happens. \nEvent Details📅 Sunday\, July 19th\, 2026📍 Community location announcement coming soon⏰ Doors 2:30 PM | Show 3:00 PM💲 $25 Artist Cover / Pay-What-You-Can👉 RSVP & Details: calgaryhouseconcerts.ca \nAs part of our Live in the Community series\, this concert reflects what Calgary House Concerts is all about: presenting professional touring artists in welcoming neighbourhood spaces — accessible\, attentive\, and open to all ages. \nNot just a concert. An afternoon of connection\, artistry\, and shared experience. \nWe look forward to seeing you there — and thank you for supporting Live Music in the Community. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n $25 TicketsSelect Ticket Quantity and Checkout: \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n TREMOLOCO Band Sunday July 19th 2026 quantity\n	\n	\n\n Go To Checkout\n\n \n \n Buy with\n \n \n\n \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Montgomery Community Centre \n  \n$25 Cover  orFood Bank Donation & Pay What U Can orEtransfer $25 tocalgaryhouseconcerts@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:J.PLANK — Live in the CommunitySunday\, August 16th\, 2026 | 3:00 PM\n~ Calgary House Concerts ~\nLocation:\nCommunity Centre coming soon \nJeff stands out because he’s the real deal — a hard-working touring artist with deep roots\, serious musicianship\, and that rare ability to make a room feel like it’s part of the show. There’s no shortcut in his story. His lap steel work isn’t “extra”; it’s a signature voice woven directly into the songs\, shaping mood and movement with texture\, soul\, and intention. Every note feels earned. \nHis songwriting carries a lived-in honesty that doesn’t feel performative — it feels true. His career has been built on consistency\, professionalism\, and musicianship that holds up night after night. Subsequent releases\, including Everything Now\, continue to showcase an artist grounded in traditional blues vocabulary while delivering it with modern confidence and clarity. \nThis event is also a Food Bank Booster Concert\, inviting guests to bring non-perishable food items in support of local community food programs and the Veterans Association Food Bank. Together\, we’ll share music\, gather donations\, and strengthen community ties. Whether you’re a longtime fan of roots music or discovering J.PLANK for the first time\, this is an afternoon designed for connection — between artist\, audience\, and community.\n________________________________________\nEvent Details\nSunday\, October 11th\, 2026\nDoors open: 2:30 PM\nShowtime: 3:00 PM \nWe are currently finalizing our partner Community Association and will announce location shortly.\n________________________________________\nSupporting Artists & Giving Back\nThis is a Pay What You Can community concert. We gratefully accept donations on behalf of both our Host Community Food Program and the Veterans Association Food Bank. \nThere are three easy ways to support JW JONES and Live Music in the Community:\n• $25 cash at the door (suggested artist cover)\n• $25 by e-transfer to calgaryhouseconcerts@gmail.com\n• Pay What You Can and bring a food bank donation\nEvery contribution helps ensure artists are paid fairly while also supporting neighbours in need.\n________________________________________\nWe can’t wait to share this special afternoon with you.
