SHIRLEY JACKSON / JEF WIRCHENKO DUO
Shirley has been a featured performer on the blues scene throughout Canada and the United States since 1997. With 5 albums and over 35 years of playing around North America under her belt, Shirley has earned a multitude of nominations including 2018 Maple Blues nomination Horn Player of the year and 2018 East Coast Music Association Blues Recording of the year with her band – Shirley Jackson & Her Good Rockin’ Daddys.

You may have had the good fortune to have heard Shirley and her band when they were invited to play at The International Blues Festival here in Calgary.

These days Shirley has made her home in Halifax so with her upcoming trip out west again we are thrilled to have booked Shirley and Jef Wirchenko Duo come play for us Sat July 7 4:00pm.

“Brother Ray” Lemelin
“Brother Ray” Lemelin spent 1985 through 1987 working with Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown as stage manager and personal valet. He then began working with a wide range of musicians including Queen Ida, Johnny Copeland, Larry David, and the Legendary Lowell Fulson with appearances on stage with numerous performers – among them Luther Johnson, Junior Wells, Amos Garrett, the Late Valerie Wellington, Micheal Coleman, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Albert Collins and Fenton Robinson. Ray has also opened for Tommy Castro and was also invited to play at 2017 Calgary International Blues Festival.

With a musical career spanning over 30 years, Ray has also had collaborations with a multitude of iconic artists which will even take us back to the early years of The King Eddy. Collaborations on Ray’s three albums with a few names you will likely recognize may include Sonny Rhodes, Bill Eaglesham, Tim Williams, Steve Pinieo, Big Dave Maclean, Darren Johnson, Howard Schmenge , Bill Dowey and Jimmy Payne.
