ABOUT TREMELOCO

Tremoloco is an eclectic roots band who have been described as Sonoran Gothic Folk, Gulf Coast roots and Tex-Mexican-Americana. Sometimes refer to it as simply “CANTINA MUSIC”.

Tremoloco is most often compared to Los Lobos for their similar influences, Zamora’s East L.A. roots, and a mutual friendship (session ace Zamora has played Los Lobos sideman on tour and members of Los Lobos often guest on Tremoloco’s albums). For a few years now Zamora has split his base between L.A. & Houston, Texas reflecting the mixed origins of the current band.

They have been labeled Tex-Mex, Sonoran gothic folk, and more recently Americana. Informally, the members refer to it as their “cantina music.” In truth, the band embraces varied musical traditions you find along the U.S. Gulf Coast and Mexican border with songs in English and Spanish.
