Calgary House Concerts is proud to welcome Dave McCann for his first appearance in our Live in the Community series.

An acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter blending folk, blues, country, and Americana, McCann brings an evocative live performance shaped by more than two decades of songwriting and touring. His shows are rich with story, soul, and timeless songs — the kind that feel both deeply personal and universally familiar.

Born in Toronto and raised in Peterborough, Ontario, McCann made his way west to Calgary in the 1990s, where he quickly became a cornerstone of Alberta’s roots music scene. Widely regarded as one of Western Canada’s most respected and authentic roots artists, he is known for deeply narrative songwriting, soulful vocals, and a sound grounded in folk storytelling, blues grit, and country honesty.

Over the years, Dave has built a critically acclaimed catalogue that includes Woodland Tea, Country Medicine, Shoot the Horse, Dixiebluebird, Circle of Light, Westbound ’til Light, and his latest release, Soothsayer’s Blues — a powerful and reflective collection filled with grit, insight, and lived experience.
